This is part of the process where we help you develop the initial design concepts. Suggest improvements, or rule out wish-list items that don't fit the time line or budget,
We'll write up the specifications, perform a PDR (preliminary design review ) for your approval before a single mark is made on the schematic.
Now that we have a direction to go with for your design (or redesign) , we can begin the processes that make your prodect.
This where we use a preferred schematic capture tool (in-house are Siemens PADS) , or you can provide your own tools such as Cadence Allegro or Altium. We can provide some Mechanical layout as needed.
During design and capture, we often use simulation tools to verify the design, integrity, efficency, etc.
The schematic tools are coupled with PC layout tools to provide the electrical connectivity of the resulting printed circuit board. We work with our fab house to assure boards meet specifications for high-speed traces (PCIe, DDR4, clock lines and so on). If building for Class III, we'll interact to make sure all spacing and clearance are met. At this point, we can hand-over all the designs for you to take from or we can continue to go to FAB.
The post layout products can be further analyzed for Signal Integrity as well as Power Integrity and temperature build-up.
If you're needing advanced software/firmware and/or FPGA design, we can connect you with our expert associates or you can use your in-house resources.
We can provide test code and the minimum soft/firmware to demonstrate the board functionality prior to integration
We can provide partial build-ups as well as fully assembled boards for test and approvals before full production.
from this point, we can provide just fabs (bare PC boards) ,full assembly (Loaded boards) or full-up assemblies (you provide the enclosures) by working through our reliable vendors.
The most important aspect of design is choosing the component that match the mission. Aerospace, Hi-Rel Avionics. Hi-Temp, Radiation-hardened. Or just commercial-grade components. All these affect the final cost of the product.
